With every failure there is always success lurking just around the corner. We just need to turn the right corner.

I'm feeling philosophical today, bear with me.

Over the years I've turned far too many corners that led down the corridors of failure and rejection. But I've never let that discourage me from turning around and going the other way and taking another corner. This is the philsophy I try to stick to when I get super discouraged with my writing and can't seem to get through even one more sentence that makes a lick of sense. I know we all go through some tough crap from time to time, but licking our wounds and letting them heal over is the only way to get through it. This applies not only to writing, but to every aspect of our lives. Don't try to cover the wounds in hopes that the pain will just go away, nurse them, soothe them, do everything you can to help the healing along. Because once the wound is done being scabbed over, the skin will cover it, making it just like new.

How true is that? So many people today make it to the top not b/c of their knowledge or skills, but b/c of the confidence they have in themselves to make it. Ignorance b/c they are oblivious to those who actually do know their stuff, and that ignorance allows them to have no conscience as to the hard work of those around him. This is just my own personal take on that wonderful quote by Mark Twain.

But, it's 4:30 in the morning, I've been up since 3:00 and I'm gonna be up right until probably 8:30 tonight. It's gonna be a long day! Dang that cat who insists on scratching on the door to go out! I thought I'd be able to go back to sleep, but noooooo. Now I'm gonna be in zombieland for the rest of the day.

Anyway, my mind is churning with some silly words that are floating around in my head, so I'm gonna write 'em down.

The parking lot is full
full of trucks, cars and motorcycles

Enough of that, sometimes I think too much, at least that's what Hubs says. I could deny it, but why bother? So, I'm shutting off the thinking part of my brain, at least for a little while, until I get some more shut-eye. I was thinking (whoops there I go again, thinking) I might crawl back into bed, at least for an hour, but then I looked at the clock and realized that I was going to have to get my son up in 45 minutes, to get him ready for school and I'd just be drifting off when the alarm clock went off. So, it's better just to stay awake. It bites having to wake yourself up all over again.
